Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao are scheduled to meet once again in a professional boxing rematch on September 19 at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

The highly anticipated bout will be streamed globally on Netflix.

The announcement follows Mayweather’s recent indication that he intends to come out of retirement after his planned 2026 exhibition against Mike Tyson.

Pacquiao also ended his retirement last July, fighting then-WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios to a majority draw. He is also slated to compete in an exhibition bout against Ruslan Provodnikov on April 18 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Details regarding the weight class and number of rounds for the rematch have not yet been announced.

Mayweather previously defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision in their record-setting encounter on May 2, 2015. That bout broke multiple boxing records, including 4.6 million pay-per-view buys in the United States and more than $410 million in revenue, along with a then-record $72.2 million live gate.

“I already fought and beat Manny once,” Mayweather said in a statement. “This time will be the same result.”

Mayweather, who turned 49 on February 24, retired from professional boxing at age 40 following his August 2017 knockout victory over MMA star Conor McGregor, finishing his career with a perfect 50-0 record (27 KOs). Since retiring, he has remained active in exhibition bouts, including matches against Logan Paul and John Gotti III.

Pacquiao, 47, has long pursued a rematch, maintaining that a shoulder injury limited him in their first meeting. He initially retired following his 2021 loss to Yordenis Ugas before returning in 2025 to face Barrios.

Entering the rematch with a record of 62-8-3 (39 KOs), Pacquiao aims to become the first fighter to blemish Mayweather’s undefeated record.

“Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history,” Pacquiao said. “The fans have waited long enough—they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix. I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him.”

While the bout will not impact pay-per-view records due to its streaming format, its availability to Netflix’s more than 325 million subscribers is expected to deliver a massive global audience. Netflix previously entered the boxing space with the 2024 bout between Jake Paul and Tyson, which drew 108 million live viewers worldwide and became the most-streamed sporting event in the platform’s history.

The upcoming contest will also mark the first boxing event held at the Sphere.
